With practically a lifetime of experience as an expatriate in countries like Chile, United States of America, Venezuela, Roumania, The Netherlands, Spain and now Bulgaria, R. Tapia Stocker is a definitive expert in the expatriate lifestyle. As the son of an ambassador, he has been immersed from an early age in the diplomatic world, understanding its allure but also keenly aware of the personal integrity required to carry out the tasks demanded of the position. Now married to a diplomat with children of his own, the expatriate experience goes on! Finding a new house has become second nature to him. Having personnel at home is not a new experience. Whether it’s organizing activities efficiently or coordinating big events, Mr. Tapia Stocker knows how to tackle the job at hand with confidence. In his words: “Moving around can be difficult for a family, especially during the first year. It is during the first year that families need the most help.”

Mr. Tapia Stocker has a university degree in Human Resources from Leiden University in The Netherlands, and has worked in multinational and international organizations for more than 10 years. The combination of these experiences makes an ideal basis from which to start a company like Local-Expat. “We are not a State Agent office that wants to rent you a house or apartment, instead we search for a special place where you will feel at home and secure. We are not an employment agency, just hiring a person to work at your house, we’re looking instead for a match that the whole family will feel pleased with.” Having personal expatriate experience, a multicultural background, and psychological training, Mr. Tapia Stocker is particularly qualified to understand the specific needs of expatriates. Local-Expat was developed with the goal to accelerate the process of integration, in order to make the experience of living abroad exciting and fun, as it should be.
